- Hornetsecurity research on ransomware. Hornetsecurity released a new report on ransomware. Key finding: 24% of organizations suffered a ransomware attack in 2025, up from 18.6% in 2024. The rise comes as cybercriminals continue to diversify their methods and leverage new technologies to bypass defences. While traditional phishing remains the leading attack vector in nearly half of attacks (46%), the report finds that a growing reliance on compromised endpoints (26%) and stolen credentials (25%) are increasingly common access vectors.
